This 100% natural hessian is perfect for all sorts of crafting, as well being very useful for DIY building jobs and also in the garden. As a size guide, to make decent size sack you only need a half-metre piece which is folded and sewn together at the sides, whilst 3 metres is a good size for a breathable cloche over a small vegetable patch.  
 
It is pet safe, being digestible if chewed, so perfect for home projects where it's location means there is a chance of it being nibbled at by your pet. It is also perfect for use outdoors, as being only 180gsm with a relatively open weave, it allows sunshine to pass through. So if you grow fruit and veg in your garden or allotment this hessian is a great, environmentally friendly 100% biodegradable barrier against large insects and birds, especially as it stands the frost well. Sacks made with this hessian are perfect for storing onions and potatoes after you've harvested them. It's ability to stand frosts and provide thermal protection makes it a favoured material for builders, as it provides protection for materials, concrete and brickwork during any construction project. 
 
The width of this hessian is 138cm (4½ feet) to the selvage edges. If you purchase more than one of this item, we will cut the fabric in one length to the total of your order. Also, we always cut the lengths a little longer than the length you have purchased to allow for slight fraying at the cut edges, but please allow for this minor edge-fraying in your calculations of the width you require for your project.
