Pets just love sausage shaped toys! Dogs love them as squishy thrash-about chew toys and rabbits love them as nibble and throw toys.
Our long jute sausages measure approximately 30cm (1 foot) long and around 2.5-3cm wide.
As jute is a soft fibre, it is easy to tie very tightly by hand and so we don't use machines to make our rope toys. All our jute rope toys are individually handmade by us with great care and attention to strength, detail and durability, ensuring that they are tough and resilient to chewing.
Unlike cotton rope which is made from very tightly-spun fibres which do not break up when chewed, jute is a safe rope for pet toys because it is only loosely spun, meaning it will split into thin small fibres when chewed, and so if it is ingested it does not cause intestinal blockages in the same way that cotton threads and ropes can.
Washing Instructions:
Machine washable on a short wash on a low temperature. To avoid fibre loss and to protect other items from fibre shed, it is best placed inside a linen/cotton bag (such as a pillowcase).
Note on health & safety
Every single pet is unique, each with their own personality and character traits. So if your pet has a tendency to chew vigorously on their toys, please ensure that you regularly check them for any signs of damage. If any do show signs of damage which could cause a choking hazard they must be disposed of to avoid any risks to your pet's health and safety.
