Cats love the scent, texture and sensation of natural fibres in their toys and particularly the fluffy texture and scent of sisal. Sisal is easy for them to catch but not always easy for them to hold onto, which makes it a super exciting material to use for a kitty who wants run, jump and catch!

As a bonus, unlike those processed real chicken feathers you see shipped en-massed out of Asia which are bleached, chemically dyed and then glued together to make a cat toy, our sisal feathers are not toxic, are very strong and they will not break easily or quickly, even in the jaws and claws of a determined cat! As such our feathered sisal toys should give your kitty many hours of endless fun!

Our sisal feathers are made with natural organic sisal which we dye ourselves using mixes of our own vegetable colourings (such as beetroot, red cabbage, turmeric, blue and green matcha – all of which are safe). Colours may vary from what you see on the screen. This is partly due to different screen settings but may also be because we hand-dye these ourselves with natural colourings onto a natural fibre and so, naturally, each feather turns out very slightly differently!

The trio of feathers measures approximately 14cm long and they are attached to the 39-40cm pine stick with a 50cm length of sisal twine. This total length of over 1 metre is ideal if your cat loves to sprint across the room after it, as well as being ideal for waggling up in the air for them to jump and catch!

All of these teasers have 3 sisal feathers of different colours, and we make these colour combinations randomly according to colours we think go great together. But if you want your teaser to include a specific colour, then you can choose that colour in the selector. Please note: if you choose a first colour that we don't have in stock, we will have to make if for you (which takes 2 days for the dying process), so this will take 2 more working days to get made for you. If we have to make your colour choice to order, we will let you know by email.

Safety Instructions

Cat's claws don't get caught up in sisal anywhere near as much as they do in fabric materials, but they will do anything to try to hold onto it! So, we advise to never flick teaser sticks away too hard and always wait for your cat to release their catch before you swish it again. This will protect their nail beds from harm. Also, to protect their eyes and ears, never flick teaser sticks directly at your cat's head. When not playing with your cat, all teaser sticks should be placed out of reach from your cat so that there can be no risk of them playing unsupervised with them and potentially becoming entangled in long strings.
